Hi, I’m Simon Pope, the Director of Rapid Response Campaigns for our European region.
After studying Archaeology at University, I spent two years working in Namibia with the Save the Rhino Trust. Since then, I’ve worked for a number of animal welfare charities and also carried out consultancy work exposing the illegal Ivory trade in Southern Africa.
I joined World Animal Protection UK in 2010 as its first Director of Campaigns and Communications where I established and developed our award-winning “Not in My Cuppa” dairy campaign. I also established the partnership between World Animal Protection and the Met Police’s Wildlife Crime Unit as part of our drive to heighten awareness about wildlife crime in the capital.
